We would like to proudly announce the relaunch of our Attitudes to Sustainability Surveys for their second year!
Children’s Attitudes to Sustainability (Age 7 – 11)
After taking the last two months off to go through, learn, understand and edit the survey results we’re now in a position where we’re ready to start again. The surveys this year have been tweaked and changed a little from last year, as a result of what we’ve learnt, and of feedback we’ve received.
If you filled out the surveys last year, please feel free to do so again this year!
As this is a longitudinal study it will reflect upon learning and understanding captured across a five year period. This means that we’re happy if you’d like to complete the survey every year. It also means that if you would like to use it as an audit tool to understand your school, class or groups attitudes and learning then you can ask them to complete it each year and then compare the results year on year.
These surveys are free to use, and we would like to encourage you to use them with your students as much as possible. Not only can you use them to audit your school or class, but they are also a fabulous tool for getting young people thinking about how they feel, what they are learning, and what they would like to learn.
Likewise, please share the adult survey with any colleagues and other staff members you work around. One of the most interesting parts of this research project is comparing the answers given by young people and by adults.
If you would like to use the surveys as an audit tool you are welcome to do so. Just let us know and we’ll give you a code that respondents can enter at the end of the survey, this will allow us to separate those results out and send them back to you.
The surveys are, of course, anonymous, and no personal data is collected or stored.
We have put together a Preliminary Findings Report which is available on our Sustainability Attitudes Page. This report outlines the findings from the first year of the study. A Full Report has also been created and is available to SEEd members through the Members Area of our website. If you are interested in the full report and are not a member please get in touch with us to discuss membership options, or visit our Membership Page.
