Post-Sustainability and Environmental Education: Remaking Education for the future

Professor Stephen Sterling, head of the Centre for Sustainable Futures at Plymouth University, and Bob Jickling have recently published a new book entitled Post-sustainability and Environmental Education: Re-making Education for the future. The book aims to provide a serious critique of education as a whole, and environmental and sustainability education in particular, and then to begin to revision, and indeed remake, a more complete vision of education that responds to the challenges of our times.

It is aimed particularly at those studying environmental and sustainability education, but the authors emphasise that it can and should be used as an entry point for anyone with an interest in remaking twenty-first century education. They also highlight that the book is not intended to add new bits to the curriculum, but to reframe education.
