‘For the love of’ is a campaign set up by the Climate Coalition – the UK’s largest group of people dedicated to action on climate change and limiting its impact on the world’s poorest communities.
Their major campaign this year happens on Valentine’s Day when people will be making little green hearts to show what they love that could disappear or change because of climate change. The Coalition have also created resources for schools and young people to get involved which you can read about below.
This February, schools across the UK will craft messages about what they love and want to protect from climate change on green hearts and display them on trees – for all to see.
This pack of curriculum linked lesson plans, assembly ideas and activities for primary school children will help children learn about the everyday things we love that are affected by climate change and what role we – and the trees we love – play in fighting climate change.
It also includes games and activities for eco-clubs, and you can order green heart stickers for your class by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
We hope your school can get involved! You’ll be joining community groups, Premiership football clubs, artists, singers, poets, astronauts and hundreds of thousands of people across the UK to show the love for the people, places and life you want to protect from climate change.
