SEEd Changemakers – Facilitating Learning for Sustainability Course
Our 3-4 month part time Changemaker course runs twice a year or on demand. The course begins online, before we meet in person at a site with a strong sustainability focus, enabling participants to apply newly learned techniques to real-world situations. The course covers learning, change, influence, persuasion, and how to broaden and deepen engagement. It is structured with an initial online foundation, followed by two full days in person, an action learning break with online support, and a final two days to reflect, feedback and improve.
This is what previous attendees have said about the course:
“I would urge anyone interested in the learning process, whether your focus is sustainability or not, to come on this course. A mini teacher training course, for beginners or experienced teachers, incredibly refreshing and inclusive. Very transformative!”- Kerri Hicks, Environmental Education and Sustainability Co-ordinator, Eton College, 2015

National Sustainable Schools Conference
SEEd conferences are held in collaboration with a consortium of local partners in different regional locations. We bring together over 100 people of all ages to create a space where they can learn and share from each other. As a delegate, you might find yourself attending a workshop facilitated by primary pupils, listening to a presentation from a local head teacher on how they have taken a Whole School Approach to sustainability, or browsing one of the many stalls in search of resources to take back to your school or workplace. During Covid the conferences were put on hold. Watch this space for more updates.

Policy forum
SEEd runs an annual policy forum with a focus on issues which we feel most reflect those affecting our members and supporters.
Previous fora have explored topics such as: ‘Education for Sustainable Development in the UK and its role in Sustainable Living’; ‘Evidence for Sustainability in Education’ and ‘Can Schools be Models of Sustainability?’
