The Galapagos Conservation Trust is the only UK charity that works solely to ensure the conservation of the Galapagos Islands. They support conservation projects for the Islands and try to raise awareness.

They specifically support conservation projects that concern the 3 key areas of their vision for a sustainable Galapagos – science, education and culture. The GCT wants to ensure that future generations can enjoy the Islands.

The GCT focuses on the Galapagos Islands because of their special significance. Observations made by Charles Darwin during his visit gave the Islands a unique place in history. The Galapagos Islands are one of the places where evolution can be seen most clearly, and they contain many species that are not found anywhere else on Earth. They were also the first ever UNESCO World Heritage Site.

They have a variety of resources aimed at assisting educators to bring the Islands to life for young people and to explore sustainability issues.
